Novariant Launches Terralite™ XPS Multi-Pit Solution

FREMONT, Calif. - August 20, 2008 - The Novariant Mining Technology Group announces the launch of a new Multi-Pit Solution with its Terralite™ XPS System.

“As more and more customers adopted our Terralite XPS HP GPS augmentation solution, two key requirements were identified,” said Alex Cortez, Vice President, Novariant Mining Group. “First, was the need to support more complex pit configurations; and second, to support multiple pits.”

Cortez adds, “The Terralite XPS Multi-Pit solution continues to offer the unique technology required for HP GPS augmentation for machine control and guidance applications in Single-Pit operations. The Multi-Pit solution is the further development of this innovative technology for more complex mine operations.”

The Terralite XPS System is composed of a constellation of Terralite stations transmitting Novariant's proprietary XPS signal; combined with a GPS+XPS Reference Station/Integrity Monitor. The Terralite XPS solution utilizes Novariant MX100 receivers, and provides operators in the pit with the necessary GPS+XPS signals, enabling up to 100&per; availability of HP position data. This virtually eliminates operational down time due to limited GPS signal availability.

For deep pit operations, the Terralite XPS System increases machine control and guidance system availability, leading to increased mine productivity, which directly impacts the bottom line in mine operations. When availability matters, Novariant is the solution.
